The Beginning Hector and McKenna’s love story started on May 21, 2017 at Whataburger. They bumped into each other while hanging out with mutual friends. Surprisingly enough, McKenna asked Hector for his phone number, and from that point on, they have been inseparable. After a few short summer months, McKenna left for college at The University of Alabama (RTR). But the 9.5 hours did not stop Hector and McKenna! Hector took a leap of faith and visited McKenna for her sorority bid day. They continued to see each other as often as possible, often times in Memphis, TN. While on a trip to Memphis, Hector and McKenna went to Graceland (Elvis’ home). Just moments after their tour, Hector took McKenna to dinner and asked her to be his girlfriend! From that moment on, they continued to take many trips to Memphis. The Adventures Hector and McKenna are very adventurous and cherish every moment together. Some of their favorite trips are to Paris, Barcelona, Lisbon, Cabo, and New York City. One of their favorite memories is in Paris. While at the top of the Eiffel Tower, Hector noticed a huge black rain cloud headed their way. McKenna assured Hector that there was no way it was going to rain; however, Hector was confident that it would pour. As the two continued to sip on their champagne in the city of love, it started to downpour, so much so that they could not see in front of them. They begin laughing hysterically at the predicament they were in and eventually made it to the hotel. That night they enjoyed a pepperoni pizza from Dominos. The Proposal On May 27, 2023, Hector asked McKenna if she wanted to go to the airport to see what the next nonstop flight was, which happened to be a flight to Denver, Colorado. Once they arrived in Denver, it was so cold that they had to buy clothes at the airport. They spent the rest of the day sight seeing. When it was time to get ready for dinner, Hector struggled to open the safe where he had hidden McKenna's ring. He even had to call the maintenance crew at the hotel to open the safe up! Eventually, Hector told McKenna that he wanted to propose at the restaurant but decided not to because the couple next to them got engaged the same way he was thinking of asking. Ultimately, Hector took McKenna on a walk, and when it was just them, he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife! We cannot wait to celebrate our special day with you all.
